India Hunkin (she/her) is a Freelance Photographer based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
She studied at The University of Edinburgh (BSc [Hons] Earth Science) whilst pursuing her love of photography and the outdoors to cultivate a broad portfolio.

Her specific style is atmospheric, with a natural yet polished aesthetic. Developed from a love for experimenting with natural light, shallow depth of field, long exposures and an adventurous take on visual storytelling.
In her own time, she enjoys exploring her own travel and documentary projects, scouting new locations and chasing the best light.

CLIENT EXPERIENCE
Producing work for a range of clients, India has extensive experience across the music industry and fast-paced events. Her music portfolio spans local indie artists to international clients, from Australian musicians Steph Strings and Kim Churchill to events such as Aberdeenshire's Glassto Festival.
Her editorial and documentary work includes interviewing Jurassic Park and Jurassic World scientific consultant, paleontologist and author, Steve Brusatte, as well as photographing the work of geological artist and author, Vojta Hybl (formally known as Rocks on Paper).
When it comes to personal celebrations, India provides full wedding day coverage as well as capturing intimate proposals, working with clients across the UK, including those who have travelled from as far as the U.S. to mark special milestones. She has built strong, lasting relationships with clients, with many returning for further photography projects and different occasions over the years.
She has also worked with organisations including Garvald Edinburgh and The University of Edinburgh's Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability on commissioned photography projects. At Garvald, she documented the creative community, capturing the confidence, character and individuality of members, while her work with The University of Edinburgh involved documenting themes related to the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals and marine science research at St Abbs Marine Station. Her photography has also been featured as part of The University of Edinburgh's Annual Report and Accounts, an important institutional publication.
